Every setting in CogniPage, what it changes, and what it is out of the box. Settings save the moment you change them — there is no apply button.

## Notifications

| Setting | Default | Effect |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Push notifications | Off | Master switch. Asks your OS for permission the first time. |
| Review / Streak / Unfinished reading / Insights / Credit alerts | All on | Which categories may notify you, once the master switch is on. |
| Daily / Weekly / Monthly reflection | All off | Generate a reflection automatically for that period and tell you when it is ready. |
| Quiet hours | Off (22:00–08:00) | Silences everything between the two times. |

## Recall style

| Option | Effect |
| --- | --- |
| HUD overlay *(default)* | A full recall card appears over what you are reading when something is due. |
| None | Recalls accumulate silently; you review them in the dashboard when you choose. |

| --- | --- | --- |
| Tracking mode | Ask each time | *Ask each time*, *Track everything*, or *Track nothing* to pause capture. |
| Show the tracking card | On | The small card over the page you are reading. Off keeps your screen clear; the same prompts stay in the tray menu. |
| What gets captured | Find the text automatically | Automatic extraction, or guided — you draw the area once per source. |
| Outline the area while capturing | On | A thin, click-through border around the region being read. |
| Move the card back | — | Appears once you have dragged the tracking card. Returns it to the top of your screen. |
| Allowed / Blocked / Authored | — | Every decision you have made, with allow, block, forget and clear-area actions. |

| Setting | Default | Effect |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Capture what you watch and listen to | On | When a tracked window is playing, capture what is said rather than the page around it. |
| Transcribe when there are no captions | Off | Write the transcript on this computer where a service publishes none. Costs no AI credits. |
| Speech model | Balanced (57 MB) | Fastest (32 MB), Balanced or Most accurate (181 MB). Bigger is more accurate and slower. Download and delete models here. |

## Flashcards

| Setting | Default | Effect |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Cards per session | 5 (range 1–20) | How many cards a finished reading session produces. |
| Target retention | 90% (range 70–97%) | How much you want to remember when a card comes back. Higher means shorter gaps and more reviews. |
