Highlights and instant notes

Sometimes you want to keep a specific passage rather than leave it to dwell-time. Select it in any application and press one shortcut — CogniPage saves it, titles it, summarises it, files it and links it to what you already know.

Using it

1. Select the text

   In a browser, a PDF reader, a document, an email — anywhere text can be selected.

2. Press the shortcut

   A small confirmation appears. If nothing was selected, it tells you so — select something and press again.

3. Find it in Notes

   The passage is saved as a note, with the original source text kept alongside anything you later write yourself.

What AI does with it

Shortly after a highlight is saved, and only if you are signed in with credits available:

• It is given a title and a short summary.
• It is filed into the right folder, creating one if nothing fits.
• The concepts it touches are extracted and linked to concepts in your other notes, which is what the Knowledge Map draws.

Without an account it is still saved, verbatim, in your notes — just unfiled and untitled.

Apps that do not expose a selection

A few applications publish no selection to the accessibility layer. There, CogniPage falls back to copying: it saves your clipboard, issues a copy, reads the result, and puts your original clipboard back. This happens only at the moment you press the shortcut, never in the background.
