Reflection

Daily, weekly and monthly write-ups of what you learned and what is slipping.

Reflection is CogniPage writing up your learning for you: what you covered, what stuck, what is slipping, and what to do next — daily, weekly or monthly. It is the view to read on a Sunday rather than the one you check between cards.

Where Reflection

Choosing a period

Switch between Daily, Weekly and Monthly at the top, and use the arrows to step back through earlier windows. Past write-ups are kept, so you can read what you thought a month ago.

The numbers

Above the narrative sits a strip of measurements for that window:

Time readHow long you actually spent reading tracked material.
ReviewsFlashcards answered.
Avg recallThe share of those you got right.
RetentionHow well your memory is holding, given the intervals involved.
Active daysDays in the window on which you did anything at all.
PassagesHow much new reading was captured.
New cardsCards created in the window.
AssessmentYour average assessment score, and how many you sat.

The write-up

Press Reflect now to generate one, or Refresh to rebuild it after more activity. It reads as prose rather than a dashboard: a headline, what you covered, what is holding, what is slipping, and a concrete suggestion for the next period. Below it, Materials this period lists what you read, with the ones most worth revisiting called out.

Having them written for you

In Settings → Notifications → Reflection reports you can have daily, weekly or monthly reflections generated automatically, with a notification when each is ready. These are off by default. The Reflection page itself is always available whether or not you switch them on.

Exporting

Markdown saves the reflection as a text file you can drop into any notes app. PDF produces a printable version — it opens in your browser ready to save as PDF. Both land in your Downloads folder.

The journal

Every reflection ever generated is listed under Journal, newest first. Clicking one jumps the page back to that window. Over a few months this becomes the most honest record you have of what you were actually learning, and when.
